• Guide for practitioners in the Evatt List

    This Guide summarises the arrangements for the Evatt List which is a specialist list established in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA) to resolve high risk matters. The Evatt List is being trialled in the following registries: Adelaide, Brisbane, and Parramatta.

  • Family Law Practice Direction: Critical Incident List

    This Practice Direction applies to family law applications made in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (the Court) which are filed in circumstances where no parent is available to care for a child or children and orders are sought for parental responsibility to enable appropriate arrangements to be made for the child or children

  • REVOKED - FCFCOA Practice Direction – COVID-19 Special Measures

    This Practice Direction was revoked 4 November 2022.

  • Commonwealth Child Safe Framework

    This is the Federal Court entity's annual child safety statement in accordance with the fourth requirement under the Commonwealth Child Safe Framework.

  • Notice of child abuse, family violence or risk

    This is a mandatory form that must be filed with any Initiating Application, Response to Initiating Application or Application for Consent Orders seeking parenting orders. This form is not to be filed if the orders sought relate to property or financial matters only.

  • Outline of Case Document (Final Hearing)

    This document must be filed in accordance with any trial directions made by the Court. Unless otherwise ordered, it must be no more than 10 pages in length (or 15 pages if both property and parenting are in dispute).

    This video is for families that need to resolve issues relating to the care and living arrangements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. The video features some of the Court’s Indigenous Family Liaison Officers who talk about their job and how they can provide support to families.

  • Notice of appeal

    This form is used to lodge an Appeal.

  • Affidavit of service by hand (divorce)

    This form is used by a person filing a sole application for divorce who is arranging service of the divorce application on their spouse by hand.

    This kit provides a guide to serving your divorce application by post or by hand. It includes information and the forms required for service.
