If you need an interpreter to communicate with registry staff, you can call the Translating and Interpreting Service on 131 450 and speak to an interpreter. Ask them to set up a three-way conversation between you, an interpreter and the Court.

This after hours service is limited to:

  • Urgent after hours applications in the general federal law jurisdiction, 
    and
  • Urgent after hours applications in the family law jurisdiction in circumstances where:
    • there is a real risk of a child being removed from Australia before the next working day; or
    • a lawyer believes there is a risk of removal or dissipation of assets before the next working day.
