  • Legal costs in general federal law matters

    In general federal law proceedings, the Court normally awards costs to a successful party. They are intended to reimburse a party (usually the successful one) for their legal costs. The costs awarded are normally only part of the costs incurred. These are referred to as party-party costs. Costs may be awarded before a final hearing; for example if a party has not complied with a timetable and the other party brings the matter back to court for further directions.

  • Subpoena - General federal law and migration

    This form is used by a party in a migration or general federal law proceeding to ask the Court to issue a subpoena. A subpoena is a legal document issued by the Court.

  • Reply

    This form is used in both family law and general federal law proceedings to reply to a respondents response or cross-claim when you wish to oppose the orders sought by the respondent or have the Court make other orders.

  • Request for file inspection (Family law only)

    This form is used by a party or their lawyer or an Independent Children’s Lawyer to request access to view a file if they are unable to view the documents on the file via the Commonwealth Courts Portal. 

  • Natural Disaster Replacement Document Request

    If your documents have been destroyed as a result of a natural disaster use this form for obtaining replacement documents at no cost.
