      This information sheet explains how to apply for a substituted service order and provides a brief guide on the affidavit evidence that should accompany such an application.
    • Lismore registry closed

      Due to flood damage and the rectification work required to bring the building back to a safe level, the Court’s Lismore registry will remain closed until after the Easter period, with re-opening anticipated to be 19 April 2022 (to be confirmed). The Court has a natural disaster replacement document form and a streamlined process for lawyers and litigants to request and receive replacement copies of files at no charge.

      The Court has jurisdiction to: review decisions under the Administrative Decisions (Judicial Review) Act 1977, determine some appeals from the Administrative Review Tribunal, and enforce determinations of the Information Commissioner under the Privacy Act 1988.

      Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Family Law) Rules 2021- RULE 10.17 Rate of interest For paragraphs 87 (11) (b) and 90KA (b), 90UN (b) and subsection 117B (1) of the Family Law Act 1975, the rate of interest prescribed, for each 6 months commencing on 1 January and 1 July each year, is the sum of: the Reserve Bank of Australia target cash rate last published before 1 January and 1 July of the year; and 6.00%.
