    • Media release: New Brisbane court dog helps reduce stress during court proceedings

      13 October 2025 The Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1) and (Division 2) (‘the Courts’) are thrilled to welcome Court Dog ‘Leo’, a new facility dog, to the Brisbane registry, as part of the Courts’ National Court Dog Program. An official ‘swearing-in’ ceremony will be held on Monday 13 October 2025 at the Brisbane registry.
    • Response to Divorce

      This form is used by the Respondent to a divorce who does not agree with information provided in an Application for Divorce
    • Response to initiating application (do it yourself kit)

      Step-by-step kit to respond to a family law initiating application.
    • Support people in Court Children’s Service adult assessments

      Participating in a Court Children’s Service (CCS) assessment, for example for a Child Impact Report or a Family Report, can be stressful. Having support on the day can help.
    • Originating Application – Human Rights

      This form was previously called Application – Human Rights. This form is used for commencing an application in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia alleging unlawful discrimination under the Australian Human Rights Commission Act 1986: see rule 28.03(1) of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2)(General Federal Law) Rules 2025 (the Rules).
    • Application in a proceeding

      This form is used if a party to current proceedings wishes to seek further interlocutory or procedural orders. An Affidavit must be filed at the same time stating the facts relied on in support of the orders sought in the Application in a Proceeding.
    • Lighthouse expansion - Update to the profession June 2023

      The expansion of Lighthouse supports the Courts’ priorities to shine a light on the scourge of family violence, to improve the outcome of matters involving family violence and other risks, and to keep children and vulnerable parties safe. It has been six months since the commencement of Lighthouse and the Evatt List nationally and the Courts acknowledge the positive response from the profession and parties in supporting the Courts’ aim to provide better-informed and safe outcomes for families…
