      This information relates to proceedings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (the Court) and has been provided to assist court users to prepare documents for eFiling via the Commonwealth Courts Portal (CCP). Documents must be prepared to meet the requirements of the applicable court rules.
    • Notice of appeal

      This form is used to lodge an Appeal.
    • Financial or property: Family pets

      Even though parties may consider a family pet to be a member of the family, the Family Law Act 1975 (Family Law Act) considers pets to be property. The term used for a family pet in the Family Law Act is a companion animal.
    • Media Release: Annual report showcases innovations for safe, accessible and inclusive justice

      On 27 October 2025, the Annual Report of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1) and (Division 2) (‘the Courts’) was tabled in Parliament. The report marks a year in which the Courts’ made significant strides towards improving safety, accessibility and inclusivity for court users in Australia.
    • Media release: Courts continue to innovate to further increase access to justice for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples

      On 11 June 2025, the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Divisions 1 and 2) (‘the Courts’) will launch their 2025–2027 ‘Innovate’ Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) which reflects the Courts’ continuing commitment to providing access to justice for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples. The launch, to be held in Brisbane, will feature an address from Aunty Betty McGrady, a Gunggari elder from Southwest Queensland, as well as Deputy Chief Justice Robert McClelland AO.

      More than 80 Judges from the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia have travelled to Alice Springs in the Northern Territory to meet with, listen and learn from Aboriginal families.
