• Media release: Three judges appointed to the Adelaide registry of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia

    The Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia welcomes the appointment of three judges to the Court’s Adelaide registry. These judicial appointments substantially increase the Court’s judicial resources and will greatly assist the Court to effectively manage its demanding caseload and provide access to justice in South Australia and nationally. The Commonwealth Attorney-General, Senator the Hon Michaela Cash today announced the following appointments to the Court’s Adelaide registry:

  • Statement from the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1)

    Information about transferring of proceedings from Family Court of Australia to Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia Division 2 to Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia Division 1 and jurisdictional

  • Family Law Practice Direction: Nullity and validity of marriage proceedings

    This Practice Direction applies to all family law applications and proceedings filed in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia for an order that a marriage is a nullity; and a declaration as to the validity of a marriage, divorce or annulment of a marriage.

  • Enforcement hearings (prescribed brochure)

    This brochure answers frequently asked questions about enforcement hearings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (the Court). An enforcement hearing allows a person who is owed money (the payee) to get information about the financial situation of the person who owes the money (the payer).

  • Family Law Practice Direction: Major Complex Financial Proceedings List

    This Practice Direction establishes the pilot of a Major Complex Financial Proceedings List, which applies to any Initiating Application (Family Law) seeking financial or property orders pursuant to the Family Law Act 1975, that is a Major Complex Financial Proceedings List case (MCFP List Case) in the Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane registry or if appropriate to be managed electronically, a MCFP List Case in any other registry of the Court. The pilot of the MCFP List commenced on 1 October 2021.
