    • Priority Property Pool Cases - Update to the profession 1

      As a result of the sustained success of the highly successful Priority Property Pool under $500,000 Pilot (PPP500), the Courts have received funding from the Commonwealth Government to expand the initiative to all filing registries. The criteria for inclusion as a PPP Case has also been expanded to afford a greater number of parties access to this case management model from 30 October 2023.

      Update 2 on the expansion of Priority Property Pool Cases including a flow chart which summarises how Initiating Applications seeking financial orders will be considered by the Court from the point of filing.
    • Practice and procedure update: Interpreter Practice Direction

      The Courts are pleased to announce the commencement of the Interpreter Practice Direction, which takes effect from 1 December 2025.
    • Media release: International recognition for the Court’s world-leading Lighthouse initiative

      The internationally respected Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) has selected Lighthouse as this year’s recipient of the Irwin Cantor Innovative Program Award. The award was presented at a ceremony held in Los Angeles, USA on 31 May 2023.
    • Update to the profession No. 2: Commencement of the new Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia

      The Family Court of Australia and Federal Circuit Court of Australia released information last week outlining changes to court operations that will occur on the commencement of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA) from 1 September 2021. On the first of September we will see a new Court that is innovative, fair and efficient and focuses on risk, responsiveness and resolution, by:  
    • Practice and procedure update: New family law Practice Direction released

      A new family law Practice Direction has been issued by the Chief Justice that applies to electronic subpoena inspection in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1) and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2).
