What you can expect from the Court If you follow the Courts on these platforms, you can expect short updates with the latest news, information and services. This may include notifications of:
    • Media release: Commonwealth Budget provides funding to the Court for new judicial appointments and support for migration cases

      As part of the 2024-25 Federal Government Budget released 14 May, the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2) (the Court) has been provided funding to assist with efficiently resolving migration cases.
    • Electronic hearings

      The Court conducts in-person and electronic hearings. This page explains what electronic hearings are and provides details about attending an electronic hearing via video link or telephone.

      The Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia is working closely with Tasmania Legal Aid (TLA) and the Law Society of Tasmania (LST) to undertake a pilot project in Tasmania to provide access to court proceedings via electronic means to parties from remote and regional areas in Tasmania.
