      The Information Publication Scheme (IPS) aims to transform the freedom of information framework from one that responds to individual requests for access to documents to a proactive approach to publishing information. This applies to both the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1) and Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2) (“the Courts”) as prescribed authorities under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (FOI Act) The IPS:
    • Children: I have been served

      This page provides information about your options when you have been served with an application or response for parenting orders.
    • Non-party request to inspect a general federal law or migration file

      The Commonwealth Courts Portal sets out basic details for many general federal law cases and some limited migration cases that have been filed, such as the names of the parties and their legal representatives, the file number, hearing dates (past and future), orders and a list of all filed documents. A non-party can make a request to access court documents.

      The Court has commenced a Critical Incident List for family law applications which are filed in circumstances where there is no parent available to care for a child or children as a result of death (including homicide), critical injury, or incarceration relating to family violence, and orders are sought for parental responsibility to enable appropriate arrangements to be made
