      Step-by-step kit to respond to a family law initiating application.
    • Undertaking as to disclosure

      This form is used to acknowledge your duty of disclosure and to undertake that you have complied and will continue to comply with that duty.
    • Originating Application – Human Rights

      This form was previously called Application – Human Rights. This form is used for commencing an application in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia alleging unlawful discrimination under the Australian Human Rights Commission Act 1986: see rule 28.03(1) of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2)(General Federal Law) Rules 2025 (the Rules).
    • Application in a proceeding

      This form is used if a party to current proceedings wishes to seek further interlocutory or procedural orders. An Affidavit must be filed at the same time stating the facts relied on in support of the orders sought in the Application in a Proceeding.
    • Media release: FCFCOA Judicial Officers appointed to Family Law Council

      The Attorney-General, Mark Dreyfus KC MP, today announced the appointment of the Honourable Justice Jacoba Brasch as Chair of the Family Law Council. Judge Alexandra Harland and the Honourable John Faulks (former Deputy Chief Justice of the Family Court of Australia) were also reappointed to the Council, with new appointments including Senior Judicial Registrar Anne-Marie Rice. The Attorney-General acknowledged the outgoing Chair, Deputy Chief Justice Robert McClelland AO.
    • Guide to using Teams for electronic hearings

      1. Introduction The term 'electronic hearing' is used throughout this guide to refer to court hearings conducted via electronic means, either videoconferencing or teleconferencing. An electronic hearing is a proper and formal court hearing. The only difference is that it is conducted via electronic means rather than in-person with all parties in a courtroom. This may include hybrid hearings where the hearing contains both in person and electronic attendees.

      A new family law Practice Direction has been issued by the Chief Justice that applies to electronic subpoena inspection in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1) and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2).
    • Visibility of superannuation for property settlement proceedings

      When you are part of a current proceeding seeking financial or property orders in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, you or your legal representative can apply directly to the Court to request your spouse, former spouse or de facto's superannuation information held by the Commissioner of Taxation.
