    • Bankruptcy Information Sheet 1: Presenting a Creditor’s Petition

      This information sheet sets out general information on how to apply to the Court for a sequestration order that makes someone a bankrupt. Proceedings to make someone a bankrupt are commenced by filing (or presenting) a Creditor’s Petition in the Federal Court of Australia (FCA) or the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2) (FCFCOA). It deals only with petitions that rely upon a debtor’s failure to comply with a Bankruptcy Notice as the act of bankruptcy.

      This page explains the steps you might take to enforce orders made by the Court.
    • Webex electronic hearing pilot

      Expansion to NSW and the ACT From Monday 11 November 2024, the New South Wales (NSW) registries (including Albury and Lismore) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) will join an expanded Webex pilot. This follows a successful initial pilot with judges and registrars conducted nationally earlier this year. During the pilot, the following electronic court events (in NSW and the ACT) will be conducted using the Webex platform:
    • Practice and procedure update: Family law Rules

      The Family Law Amendment Act 2024 (the Amendment Act) commences on 10 June 2025. As a result, the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Family Law) Rules 2021 (the Rules) have been amended.
    • Migration videos

      Links to the translated versions of the three migration videos created by the court.
    • General Federal Law Practice Direction: Intellectual Property proceedings

      This Practice Direction applies nationally from 1 September 2021 to all intellectual property proceedings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
