    • FCFCOA Information Notice: Court Record

      This information notice establishes the manner in which files in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia may be constituted.
    • Affidavit – non-filing of family dispute resolution certificate

      If you are applying for interlocutory orders, that is, orders to cover your case until a final hearing can take place, then you do not need to complete this affidavit. You will have to complete an Application in a proceeding and an affidavit in support.
    • Central Practice Direction: Migration proceedings

      The purpose of this Practice Direction is to set out the practice and procedure of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2) (Court) for the case management of its migration caseload. It does not otherwise apply to general federal law proceedings.
    • De facto relationships

      Information about what a de facto relationship is and how to apply to the court
    • Supreme Court of Indonesia and the FCFCOA continue strong collaboration in family law outcomes for women and children

      Judges of the FCFCOA visited the Supreme Court of Indonesia in July 2022 to continue discussions under the Memorandum of Understanding between the courts that focuses on improving the quality of services and judicial decisions in family law cases affecting women and children.

      The Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1) and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2) (the Courts) are delighted to provide this last update with the commencement of the expansion of the Lighthouse model and the Evatt List from this Monday 28 November 2022.
    • Update to the profession No. 4: Commencement of the new Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia

      On 1 September 2021, the Family Court of Australia (FCoA) and Federal Circuit Court of Australia (FCC) will be amalgamated to create the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA). Division 1 of the FCFCOA will deal only with family law matters, while Division 2 will deal with both family law and general federal law matters.
    • What has changed with the new Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia?

      1 September 2021 marks the commencement of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (the Court). The Court has produced three informative videos that are available on the new website that explain the changes to the Court, what to expect when coming to court, and a video aimed at people who are considering to engage in, or are involved in, family law proceedings in the Court. The videos are available from the following links:
    • Practice and procedure update: Applications for Review of Registrar decisions in family law

      This update provides important information about Applications for Review filed after close of filing on Friday 15 November 2024. Please be advised that an Application for Review filed on or after 15 November 2024 may not be able to be heard prior to the commencement of the Court shutdown period, being close of business, Tuesday 24 December 2024.
