    1 September 2021 marks the commencement of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (the Court). The Court has produced three informative videos that are available on the new website that explain the changes to the Court, what to expect when coming to court, and a video aimed at people who are considering to engage in, or are involved in, family law proceedings in the Court.   • Media release: Three new court dogs commence work in NSW registries

    The Courts are thrilled to announce the introduction of three new facility dogs to the National Court Dog Program. The purchase of the dogs has been funded by the Law Society of New South Wales, and the dogs were expertly trained and supplied by Guide Dogs Australia. Media are invited to attend the swearing in events in Parramatta and Newcastle.

    From 1 July 2016, the Courts Administration Legislation Amendment Act 2016 designated the Family Court and the Federal Circuit Court, together with the Federal Court of Australia, a single statutory agency for the purposes of the Public Service Act 1999. Heads of jurisdiction continue to be responsible for managing the administrative affairs of their respective courts (excluding corporate services), with assistance from a CEO and Principal Registrar.
