      Coinciding with National Children’s Week, the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1) and (Division 2) (the Courts/FCFCOA) have proudly launched the Courts’ Children’s Charter and Kids’ Corner — two new initiatives designed to support children whose parents are separating and are involved in family law proceedings.

    • 12 Years of Innovation in Women's Access to the Family Courts of Indonesia

      The collaboration to support women’s access to the Religious Courts of Indonesia from 2004–2017 was made possible by the contributions of: The Chief Justice of the Family Court of Australia, The Honourable Diana Bryant AO; The Honourable Peter Murphy, Judge of the Appeal Division of the Family Court of Australia; Leisha Lister, Executive Officer and Executive Director of International Programmes; and judges and staff of the Family Court of Australia.
    • Media release: the Court convenes national roundtable discussions on domestic and family violence

      Today, the Chief Justice of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA), the Hon William Alstergren AO is hosting an inaugural National Family Violence Symposium involving approximately 80 key stakeholders from every State and Territory representing the family violence and other related sectors such as those working in frontline services, government, academia, legal and victim support services.

      Participating in a Court Children’s Service (CCS) assessment, for example for a Child Impact Report or a Family Report, can be stressful. Having support on the day can help.
    • Media release: New Brisbane court dog helps reduce stress during court proceedings

      13 October 2025 The Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1) and (Division 2) (‘the Courts’) are thrilled to welcome Court Dog ‘Leo’, a new facility dog, to the Brisbane registry, as part of the Courts’ National Court Dog Program. An official ‘swearing-in’ ceremony will be held on Monday 13 October 2025 at the Brisbane registry.
