Practice and procedure update: New filing counters and support services for migration cases in Parramatta and Sydney

Litigants and practitioners in migration proceedings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2) can now file applications and other related materials at:

At both locations, litigants will also be able to access the support and assistance of Cultural Liaison Officers and dedicated migration Client Services Officers.

Following extensive building works, the Parramatta and Sydney William Street registries now have the capacity to conduct in-person Court events for migration cases listed before Judicial Registrars. It is therefore important for litigants and practitioners to be aware that some migration matters may be listed before a Judicial Registrar in these registries.

Existing services, listings and operations in these locations will continue as normal, and filing via eLodgment remains the most common way court users file material.

These innovations are part of the Court’s commitment to better support litigants and improve access to justice in the migration jurisdiction.
