Various new Practice Directions and Information Notices have been issued to accompany the new rules. This Practice Direction formally revokes a number of outdated or superseded Practice Directions and Information Notices issued by the Family Court of Australia or Federal Circuit Court of Australia prior to the commencement of the operation of the Court on 1 September 2021.

      From 31 October 2025 additional documents will be required when filing an Application for Consent Orders on the Commonwealth Courts Portal
    • Family law senior judicial registrars, judicial registrars and deputy registrars: the roles explained

      Senior judicial registrars, judicial registrars and deputy registrars each undertake key roles in the operation of the family law jurisdiction of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (the Court). Although each of these roles existed in the former Family Court and Federal Circuit Court, they now play an enhanced role in the case management pathway of the new court.
