Sad (feeling unhappy)

  • What it might feel like: A heavy, quiet feeling, like a grey cloud hanging over you. You might want to cry, be alone, or you might lose interest in things you usually enjoy. Your body might feel tired.
  • When you might feel it: When you are missing someone or something, feeling lonely, wishing things were different, feeling disappointed, or when you hear unhappy news.
  • What you can do: It’s usually good to talk to an adult you trust when you feel sad. Other things that can help are getting a hug from someone you love, writing in a diary, listening to some music, or having some quiet time by yourself.
